अनुवादः (Translation)

(Arjuna continues) "O Janardana! What joy could be there for us, having killed Dhritarasthra's people? We will accrue only sin having killed these serious offenders."

Notes

  1. Ramanuja does not comment on this verse separately.
  2. RSDji adds that killing someone who has done serious offences against one is right only according to अर्थशास्त्र which is, by definition, for people with some selfish end (अर्थ ) in mind. However, for one with no selfish end in mind, धर्मशास्त्र takes precedence. Hence, for someone with no selfish aims, non-violence takes greater precedence: "अहिंसा परमो धर्मः".
