Notes

Ramanuja does not comment on this verse separately.

Swami Ramsukhdasji summarizes the surprising transformation in Arjuna.

I heard Sri Krishna Premi note a strange symmetry in the situations of Dhritarashtra and Arjuna. The former is blinded by his ममता and the latter has his eyes covered due to tears of compassion. Sanjaya, given due to the boon of Vyasa serves as Dhritarashtra's eyes. Krishna serves as Arjuna's eyes. However, Arjuna's compassion, even though misplaced, leads him to knowledge while ममता is always ruinous.
