सञ्जय उवाच
दृष्ट्वा तु पाण्डवानीकं व्यूढं दुर्योधनस्तदा |
आचार्यमुपसङ्गम्य राजा वचनमब्रवीत् || १-२ ||

Meaning

शब्दार्थाः (Word for word)

सञ्जयः -- Sanjaya; उवाच -- said; दृष्ट्वा -- Having seen;
तु -- indeed (Usually means "but". Here, just an interjection for emphasis.);
पाण्डवानीकम् -- Pandavas' army [अनीकम् =army];
व्यूढम् -- arrayed for battle in a formation; दुर्योधनः -- Duryodhana; तदा -- then; आचार्यम् -- (his) teacher; उपसङ्गम्य -- having approached near; राजा -- king; वचनम् -- words; अब्रवीत् -- said;

अन्वयः (Word order)

सञ्जय उवाच -- तदा पाण्डवानीकं व्यूढं दृष्ट्वा तु राजा दुर्योधनः आचार्यम् उपसङ्गम्य वचनम् अब्रवीत्

अनुवादः (Translation)

Sanjaya said -- Then, having seen the Pandavas' army in a formation (ready) for battle, king Duryodhana approached (his) teacher (Drona) and spoke (the following) words.

Notes

Ramanuja does not comment on this verse separately

Swami Ramsukhdasji talks about the attitude of Duryodhana but I didn't find anything to apply here.
