Elementary question: is it पुल्लिङ्गः or पुंलिङ्गः?
Also, सञ्जय or संजय?
It is सञ्जय
About पुल्लिङ्गः , I think sandhi rules are such that it should be पुल्लिङ्गः , I'm not sure..I thought one of you would correct it :)

It is certainly sañjaya and not saṁjaya. I heard from someone that around early 1900s, many texts starting printing many of the ñ sounds with just anusvāra (like saṁcayati instead of sañcayati). This is grammatically/phonetically incorrect.
My saṁskṛta-bhāratī teacher told me that both puṁlingaḥ and pullingaḥ are sādhu. I have also seen the anusvāra at the top often to have a Aum type symbol in some texts. I did not understand why.
Just checked Apte, and he has it as puṁs + lingaḥ = puṁlingaḥ
