I am not sure whether anybody has already replied to your mail.

The following days are considered inappropriate for vedic learning (called as 
Anadhyayana days)

First Day 
Eighth Day 
Fourteenth Day
Full Moon Day
New Moon Day

Second Day is considered very auspicious for beginning fresh lessons.
