I am grateful to Prof Vasudha Narayanan for correctly identifying
Dr KKA Venkatachari's career and contributions.

Respected Sir:
Thank you for your interesting postings. A minor detail on my respected
teacher Sriman K.K.A. Venkatachari. He did his doctorate at Utrecht
university in Holland (not Harvard), but was instrumental in guiding many of
us, including Professor Carman of Harvard. Infact, through his
introduction, I was a graduate student at Harvard for two years. He has
left the Swaminarayan center in Gujarat and is now back in Madras. His book
_Manipravala literature_ is of course an authority in the field.
With respects,
Vasudha Narayanan
Professor, Department of Religion
PS I was excited to know you are from Srirangam. Mrs. Devaki (W.
Adayavalanjan) is my father's cousin and I spent many happy weeks with her
studying the adhyayana utsavam in 1990 January when I was on sabbatical.
Although I have been to Srirangam regularly from childhood and still go
there, those days in residence were thrilling. I had the privilege of
getting to know Sri Nadamuni araiyar, Sri Veenai Rengarajan and many other
learned people there.
