srImathE rAmAnujAya namaha srImadh varavara munayE namaha Dear Members, Today is the most sacred day of all for every Srivaishnavite. As Sri maNavALa mAmunigaL said in his upadEsarathinamAlai, this day is better than the ones in which the AzhwArs were born. Why? I am sure all of you know the answer, but nevertheless, additional posting on this will never be boring. Just picturize this in your mind for the moment. The stage is set in the time after the AzhwArs. The vEdic religion is in the decline. The religions of anti-vEdic nature like Buddhism and Jainism is completely prevalent in our country. Even the kings start patronising them. So where are the vEdAs? Another situation, like the one when BrahmA lost the vEdas to the madhukaitapAs. So is the world going on the right path now? Okay, may be the Ahimsa aspect is okay with the anti-vEdic religions, but will it do good to the jeevAthma in attaining the salvation. The answer is a big no. It is spiritual darkness everywhere. Hopeless situation. Well, well, here is some light. Yes, there is someone who has taken birth to bring the vEdic religion to its lost glory and pomp. Wait! Wait!, what is he doin?. My god, there are lot of misinterpretations. He is equating the jeevAthmA to the paramAthmA and misquotes the vEdas for it. There is no bhakti in his works for every one is the brahmam and so only knowledge is enough to take you to the realisation of salvation. Is this what the vEdAs says. No! For a moment, I thought the silver lining is going to become a bigger one and bring the light to the entire world. But it is no good. It remains only as a Silver lining, in that atleast the vEdic culture is revived. Alas, here it is happening. Here is a bright glow coming from one of the houses in a remote village in South India. What place is this. I trace to find it as Sriperumpudur. What is so special in that house. This light is giving lot of hopes. Sure this is an avathAram of the Supreme God Sriman nArAyaNan. Has He come to retrieve the lost vEdas like He did in the beginning of the creation of the universe taking the form of a fish. Yes. He has arrived. The saviour of the vEdic religion has arrived. It is none other than our beloved Sri rAmAnuja, who again is none other than Sri Parthasarathy of ThiruvallikkENi, in the form of AdhisEsha has taken another incarnation to retrieve the lost vEdas. Okay Sri rAmAnuja is growing now. But what is this, He is going to the person, who teaches the purport of vEdas, completely misinterpreted. Is this hope also a let-down one. Oh no! Not at all. This boy is questioning his teacher and astonishingly the boy is right in the interpretations of the vEdas. Reality: From here, there was no going back for Sri rAmAnuja. He learnt the poorva paksham from the advaitin Sri Yadava prakasa and then established the siddhAntam. For all the retrieval he has done to the vEdas, he can surely be compared to the matsyAvathAram or the HayagrIva-avathAram of Sriman nArAyaNan who brought back the vEdas to this world. And this prodigious AchArya was born on this day exactly 985 years back. So if not for Sri rAmAnuja this vEdic religion would have gone to the inner worlds. So isn't it true that today is the most important day in life of Sri Vaishnavites, who are the torch bearers of the Vedic religion, when this great AchArya of all times was born. Please recite the glory of the day from UpadEsarathinamAlai. Let us sing the glory of Sri rAmAnuja himself later.
