Jai Sriman Narayana, Today, I was thinking about a way in which I could make Sri Ramanuja happy and get his blessings. The easiest way, I found out was to recite Tiruppavai which was so dear to Sri Ramanuja. If it was not for the divine blessings of Sri Ramanuja, most of us could have been totally lost in this life. Just the tag to our names ( Ramanuja Das ) makes us dearest to the Lord. Sri Ramanuja established the philosophy which is close to what we can see here and extrapolates in an easily understandable way to the Unseen supreme. It is complete in the sense that it gives correct interpretations to all that is said in the upanishads. Nothing is left out. This thought of Sri Ramanuja is fully filled with the Love for the Supreme and all the beings. It creates a joy and a purpose for living in us. There can be no cause of depression in this thought. The thought that there is a supreme Lord who loves us dearly and has created all these worlds for us, creates a sense of confidence and strength to sail thru all the tough times. If a person were to be told that there is nothing or you are that...then what is the purpose of this life?. will be his first question. If I am that, then why am I here and suffering like this. Also, why I need to give up my pleasures and take to self-control and do all the hard penace for attaining that which is me already?. If my fellow beings are also that or say that nothing is there, then with what reason, should I serve them or be helpful to them?. The very thought of vishistadvaita, explains the karma theory, the nature of jIva and the nature of paramAtma and the relation between them. It shows the great results that can be obtained by following a righteous life. It creates love and interest in attaining that result ( the supreme Lord ) and thus lays the base for leading a proper life. This thought makes an individual most useful to the society as he works with immense love for the supreme Lord and all those related to Him. Though all other philosophies are meant to make a person lovable to the world, they do not clearly define the goal and the results which he gets. It is only vishistadvaita which clearly shows you the goal (Lord). We are made to move towards Him, on our own volition as we are made to realize his immense love and great qualities. In trying to become dear to the Lord, we also start getting His good qualities one by one and become lovable to the world. For a guy like me, being second in a queue always adds a sense of comfort. The knowledge that my Aacharya and my Lord are here with me and are taking care of me as their dear child, creates an immense joy and gives me real strength. If Sri Ramanuja didn't descend to this earth, thats it. There could have been no respite to our problems, sufferings. In order to give happiness to our beloved aacharya lets remember and express our love to : 1) Lord Ranganatha ( Who protected Sri Ramanuja ) 2) VaradaRaja perumal ( Who gave us Sri Ramanuja ) 3) Srinivasa perumal (the great disciple of yatiraja) 4) Tirunarayana perumal ( the beloved son of yatiraja) 5) All our Alwars 6) Sri Natha muni 7) Sri YAmunA chArya 8) Sri Periya Nambi 9) Sri kurattaalwan. 8) All our pUrvAchAryas 9) Our respective AAcharyas, who are incarnations of Sri Ramanuja for all us. I conclude by praying to Sri Ramanuja, to keep us all glued to his feet forever and give us His service for ever.
