ananta (अनन्तम्) is a distinguishing attribute of Brahman, signifying that by nature it is without any limit, unconstrained by space, time, and or other specific quality. It's not just a vastness but an absolute freedom from all limitation or finitude.

  • “अनन्तपदं च देशत: कालतो वस्तुतश्च परिच्छिन्नात् व्यावृत्तपरम्" (anantapadaṃ ca deśataḥ kālato vastutaśca paricchinnāt vyāvṛttaparam): “The term ‘ananta’ (infinite) differentiates from that which is limited by space, time, and nature.” (Sribhashya 1.1.2)
