Kalai fights in India
From the Bhakti List Archives

Dear Bhaktas, Regarding these kalai disputes, I have received rather pointed emails about how one side has done such and such a thing, how such a purvAcharya has endured such disrespect, etc., how one side or the other is almost always at fault, and how "my side" are generally accomodating and saintly. I think we are getting very close to refighting the battles that are being fought on a daily basis in India. I urge serious thought before publicly engaging in verbal battles over these issues, especially here on our list. The problem is that different people have different accounts of history, and these tremendously color how one views modern happenings. Perhaps these troubling topics may be more calmly and better discussed over personal email -- but in the end I leave it up to you as individuals. Just wanting to avoid unnecessary rancor, Mani
