Dear bhagavathas,

namo narayana. adiyen's pranamams.

adiyen is extremely glad to inform all of you of our grand Thirunakshatram
celebrations of Lord Thiruvenkatamudaiyan and our dearest acharya
kavitarkika simham Swami Desikan at Bahrain. Incidentally this is our second
anniversary for our Desikan satsangh. For the new members of the net here
is a quick update: Desikan club/satsangh was started two years back by
sri.Sudarshan (who is now in kuwait) and sri Chary and other like minded
devotees. The purpose of this group is recite desika stotras on every
sravanam thus enjoying the poetic brilliance and bakthi anubhavam of
Swami desikan.This satsangh activities are continuing without break for
the past 2 years and yesterday was the second anniversary. Satsangh
activities are like oasis for the bhagavathas here in this desert and we
long
for any such gathering.

The celebrations have started with recitation of pancha suktham and followed
by desikan stotras Hayagriva stotram and Daya sathakam. This year also
the celebrations have taken place at sri. chary swamin's residence and
although it was a week day the hall was overflowing with desikan admirers.
We have recited pallandu, amalanadhipiran , kanninun siruththambu and
select verses of Thiruvoymozhi ( uyarvara uyarnalam (1.1), Ulagam unda
peruvaaya (6.10)  and muniyE nanmuganE (10.10) ).On desika prabandham
we have recited Adaikkalappathu and prabandha saram.

Sri Chary swamin has performed thiruvaradhanam for saligrama moorthys.
It is a great treat to watch him performing thiruvaradhanam.The shraddha
with which he offers argyam baadhyam etcc and his interaction with perumaL
will make you feel that Sriman Narayana has descended from vaikuntam
and accepting our offerings in person. It is so real!  so real! We were in
great ecstasy!!

We had an elaborate sattrumurai for this special evening with various
Upanishad passages, ithikasas like Ramayana,Bhagavat gita and
from the four important granthas for srivaishnavas namely Sri bhashya,
Gita bhashya, Srimad rahasya traya sara and Bhagavad vishayam. This
is followed by usual prabhanda and desika prabandha pasurams.

The sambhavana collection of this evening will be sent in for " Thiruvallur
Veeraraghava perumaL pandiyan kondai kaimkaryam" and all the
bhagavathas have generously contributed for this kaimkaryam.

While still on the divine mood, prasadam was served which was prepared
keeping ekadasi in mind. Sri Chary swamin who was on nirjala till that
late (10.30PM) with all the hectic preparations, surprisingly did not show
any sign of tiredness and he kept mingling with everyone of us. This could
be certainly due to divine blessings of Lord Srinivasa and Swami desikan.

Our desikan satsangh has grown in size over the couple of years. adiyen
could see lot of new faces and every one is commited to keep this
satsangh active with monthly gatherings. All the devotees in bahrain have
one prayer to our dear Swami desikan:

" Please bless us to continue this kaimkaryam and keep us amidst of
bhagavathas all the time. Please guide and use all of us as instruments
to spread our glorious sampradayam thus helping lots and lots of
ignorant souls to overcome this samsara sagara and become prapannas
to perform eternal kaimkaryam to Sriman narayana at his abode, vaikuntam."

N.B:After the celebrations are over sri.Chary swamin broke the sad news of
his decision to leave bahrain shortly. What a great loss it would be for the
srivaishnavas here in bahrain. We have learnt a lot from him apart from
recitation of desika stotrams. He was like  a ready reckoner for all of us
to clear our doubts on our sampradayam. He is a true srivaishnava in every
sense, and a good example for us in following anushtanams.adiyen
understands that he will settling down at madras and let this association
continue over email. Sri.Chary swamin, we will be missing you a lot and
shall seek your blessings to continue the desikan satsangh and other
kaimkaryams here in bahrain and please pardon us for any of our
inadvertant apacharams that might have  been commited during our
association.
