Sri: SrimatE Gopaladesika MahadesikAya Namaha, SrimatE NigamAnta MahadesikAya Namaha, Dear Bhaktas, On this most sacred day, doubly-blessed on account of the Tirunakshatram of Swami Desikan and Lord Srinivasa, Adiyen wishes to reflect on the limitless compassion of this great Acharya and the Lord of Seven Hills, through the Daya Shatakam salutations "PrapadyE Tam Girim PrAya:", "Yan MUrthyA sharkarayitum", "VigAhE Teertha BahuLam", "ManyE Mata Jada Iva SutE VatsalA Maa drushEtvam", "Srinivasasya Drushtim", "KaruNe NishkaruNa" "Aham Asmi Aparadha Chakravarthi" "Jagati Hitamnanastvayi Bharanyasa nAdadhikam", "HEtunA sethunA", "satapatala BheeshanE", "Sakrut avEkshanAth", "Jagati gItayA Andham Tama:", "Veena Visheshamiva Venkata Shaila natha:" and "Kallola Kolahala:". Each of these salutations conveys with conusmmate effect, a special facet of Daya Devi of the Lord of Seven Hills. Adiyen is extremely thankful for the assurances provided in verses 106-108 of this most majestic stuthi, which emphasizes the elevated role of Daya and her importance in granting refuge to a Prapanna. This stuthi has been greatly embellished by the outstanding Anubhavams of Mahans like H.H. Srimad Andavan Swami of Srimad Poundarikapuram Ashramam, U.Ve. Sri Ramadesikachariar Swamin, and U.Ve. Dr. V.N. Vedanta Desikan Swamin. This stuthi is also known to have been extremely special to H.H. Abhinava Desika Sri Uttamoor Veeraraghavachariar Swamin. It is extremely heartening to see the commencement of several Kaimkaryams for Swami Desikan and Our Lord take place on this most auspicious day. Adiyen cannot find sufficient words to praise Smt. Praveena for her outstanding Kaimkaryam of a daily capsule on the greatness of Swami Desikan.
