Bhakti and Prapatti - 1

     Dear  bhaktAs of Sriman NArAyaNA,
     namo nArAyaNA . pranAmams. 

     Today being the thirunakshattram of the illstrious Sri Adhivan
     ShatakOpa Yateendra MahAdesikan ,is a very auspicious day for
     all Sri VaishnavAs. All the descendants of 74 simhAsanAdhipatIs
     appointed by Bhagavad RAmAnujA ,performed kAlakshebam (one or more
     granthAs) under the lotus feet of this mahA avatAra purushar who was
     chosen and appointed by Lord Lakshmi Nrusimhan Himself to propagate
     the eternal and most glorious Sri Vaishnavam . MAlolan after
     performing preksha mantra upadesam made the 19 year old KidAmbi
     SrInivAsAchAryA, who by then was the master of all sAstrAs by the
     divine blessings of GatikAsatham ammAL, enter into sannyAsa AshrAmA
     and gave the thirunAmam "ShatakOpa Jeeyar". MAlolan also gave the
     special mudrAs of Sudarsana chakrA and pAnchajanyA to this first 
     H.H.Jeeyar of Sri Ahobila Mutt , for performing thApa samskAram
     to His adiyArs and personally accompanied the Jeeyar for accepting
     His adiyArs SaraNAgathi . 

     In Jeeyar's vAzhi thirunAmam occurs : 

     "rahasya traya sAraththin rasam uraippOn vAzhiyE 
      rahasiya muppathi irandum rasiththu uraippOn vAzhiyE ....".

      Adhivan ShatakOpa Jeeyar expounded the invaluable meanings of the
      three most sacred rahasya mantrAs with great clarity and joy to his
      dear disciples through the immortal Srimad Rahasya Traya sAram 
      and other rahasya granthAs of SwAmi Desikan , and thereby propagated
      especially the eternal glories of the prapatti sAstrA.

      The mercy of current Azhagiyasingar has made adiyEn to write
      an article on the two sAdhyaupAyams namely Bhakti and Prapatti.
      adiyEn humbly submits this article mentally unto the lotus feet of
      Srimad Azhagiyasingar .

      Actually , our dear Sriman Sadagopan told adiyEn to submit an 
      article for the souvenir going to be released during the 
      fulfilment of kainkaryam to Oppiliappan. Ofcourse it was only
      because adiyEn's father Sriman K.G.Krishnan (KGK) has done 
      lot of kainkaryams for "GOdhA PriyA" and other kainkaryams for
      oppiliappan alongwith Sriman Sadagopan, his sister Smt PadmA
      VeerarAghavan and other devotees. Its adiyEns dhurbhAgyam through
      hectic school pressure that week and thereby couldn't write an
      article in a short notice. But ,adiyEn started to write on "Bhakti
      and Prapatti" that time. Its bhagavad sankalpam that it has to 
      be written (for completion) for celebrating the thirunakshattram
      of Sri Adhivan ShatakOpa Yateendra MahAdesikan.
