Dear SrI. Mani, I agree with you. Even in my case, I've not undergone samASrayanam. While doing sandhyavandanam, many times I felt like continuing with ashtAkshara mantrajapam. But I'm of the view that we'll get the full benefit of the japA after being initiated by an AchAryA. I'm eagerly waiting for the great ceremony of Atma-sudhdhi.
