Dear members,

>From what I have been practising as guided by my elders, I can give the
following information. Please correct me if I am wrong.

PitR-TarpaNam is performed on the amAvAsyA of every month.

The other four occasions are the ViSu  days marking the commencement of the
months of  'Tai', 'ChiTra' (Tamil New Year's Day), 'Adi' and 'Tula'
respectively.

PitR-TarpaNam is also performed at the time of every solar and lunar eclipse
that can be seen from India (or the country of residence, I guess), and on
the day after every Abdhika Sradham (parehani-TarpaNam).

In an earlier mail, I had sought to be enlightened on the significance of
pitR-TarpaNam. I again request knowledgeable members to shed light on the
subject.

	Orthodox vaidika-s ideally perform pitR-tarpaNam at the beginning of
every month (mAsa-sankramaNa) . 
	but others perform it at least for some select four months.
	Would anyone know which select months ?
