Just to add to this interesting discussion, similar relationships with
certain temples are there in our family, as well.  Our family on my father's
side traces its roots to Periya Thirumalai Nambi, so our link on my father's
side is doubled to Srinivasan.  Consequently, for as far back as we can
remember, our family makes it a point to conduct poonal ceremonies and
samAsrayanams at Thirumalai.  My mother's side has family in SriVilliputur,
so Andal-RangamannAr are held in high esteem.

However, my great-parents and grandparents on both sides of the family spent
many years in Guntur in Andhra Pradesh, which is within proximity of a famous
abhimAna sthalam, Sri pAnakAla Lakshmi Narasimha Sannidhi.  So, this temple,
and Sri LakshmiNarasimhar, in general, is held in equal esteem.

For my wife's family, who hail from Koyil Kandadai Annan paramaparai, Sri
Ranganatha is held in high regard along with Srinivasan.  But, because of
their close association with HH Sri Pedda Jeeyar and HH Sri Chinna Jeeyar,
Ramar has become the "kula daivam".
