Dear All, I had a question which i hope that some of you could answer for me. When i was in udipi a few years ago, i purchased a set of photographs of the actual udipi sri krishna (some 50 of them) in which numerous alankaras were done. I noted that on eclipse days, the vigraha murthy was not decorated with jewelry or flowers, but only a white, silken dhoti and uttareeyam. Is this the standard for alankara on eclipse days? Under what circumstances should the lord only be dressed in a simple dhoti with no jewelry and flowers? Are there any circumstances that would demand such worship or should the lord always be fully decorated? thank you Sridhar ------------------------ Yahoo!
