(Note from Moderator: I approved this message in order to allow a general sharing of information on the purpose of soma yaga and its practice. I know that members will not get into the issue of what X or Y should or should not do, since this is not in the purview of our List. So please address only general aspects of soma yaga, its vedic significance, the procedures, who performs the yaga, etc., in your responses). From: Bhattathity M PDate: Fri Nov 29, 2002 8:51am Subject: Somayagam The objective of this mail is get your feedback on an important issue. Kindly recall our recent mail on the proposed Somayaagam at Mulankunnathukavu, near Trissur. As you know Somayaagam aims at cleansing the mind of people-at-large and the environment. This yaagam is also an effort to revive our great ancient vedic tradition. The team headed by Thaikkat Vaidikan Neelakantan Namboothiri had sworn (by reciting "Thaitheereeyam Bhaasha" ) in the name of Lord Dakshinaamoorthy of Sukapuram to perform the Yaagam with Puthillam Ramanujan Namboothiri as Yajamaanan. But, it is heard that the offer of financial support has now been withdrawn. Thaikkat Vaidikan will now have to perform the Yaagam at home or other suitable location on his own. In your opinion, what stand should namboothiri.com take ? Should he perform the Yaagam at any cost or should he break his pledge ? Please let us know your feedback. ----- -- SrImatE rAmAnujAya namaH -- Your use of Yahoo! Groups is subject to http://docs.yahoo.com/info/terms/
