Ref of Avatars in Vedas

Dear Friends, Thanks for your points. adiyEn's doubt is that why then there was no reference of avatars like Rama and Krishna. And could it be like this that Ist 5 avatars did not happen physically (in this world) and were only STORIES to explain some GREAT Metaphors mentioned in vEdas and rest happened physically.
