Post 6 Dear Sri vaishNava perunthagaiyeer, In this post, we will enjoy the sri vishNu sahasra naamaavali with naamaas having the common thread of the anga varNanai of my krishna - or is it narasimha - as you could see from the post. We will combine all parts of the body starting from feet to head and the full body. May be this enjoyment has to be slightly divided and shared in two posts - because of the large number of naamaas available to form the aavaLi. Starting with the feet - A. The feet [ thiruvadi thaane mudhalil] 1. Om Eka padhe nama: -- naamaa no.778 occurring in slokam 82 - meaning: the one footed - he whose incarnation is just a part of his totality. 2. Om thri padhaaya nama: -- naamaa no. 538 occurring in slokam 57 meaning: the proponent of the three thathvaas - [BhOkthaa, BhOgya, niyanthaa are the 3 thathvaas], one who has taken three steps as vaamanaa. 3. Om sahasra padhE nama: -- naamaa 229 occurring in slokam 29 - meaning: the 1000 footed. B. The hands - Bhujam in samskrith] 4. Om chathu: Bhujaaya nama: -- naamaa no.142 occurring in slokam 15 meaning: one who has four hands. 5. Om su Bhujaaya nama: -- naamaa no.266 occurring in slOkam 29 meaning: he of majestic and lofty hands. 6. Om ratha anga paaNayE nama: -- naamaa no. 998 occurring in slOkam 107 meaning: who has the wheel in his hands [ wheel which is the moving part of the part- hence ratha angam] C: The shoulders / arms: Bhaahu. 7. Om veera bhaahavE nama: -- naamaa no.464 occurring in slOkam 49 meaning: he who has mighty arms. 9. Om chathu: baahavE nama: -- naamaa no. 772 occurring in slokam 82 meaning: the four armed lord . D. Chest - thiru maarbu- 10. Om dhaama udharaaya nama: -- naamaa no. 369 occurring in slOkam 40 meaning: he who has all the world in his belly- who has the rope mark in belly because of mother as in krishna avathaaram. F. Om satha aananaaya nama: -- naamaa no. 729 occurring in slokam 77 meaning: one who is having 100 faces. I. The head - siras. 25. Om bahu sirasE nama: -- naamaa no. 116 occurring in slokam 13 meaning: the multi headed lord. J. The eyes- aksha: - lOchanam - 26. Om pushkara akshaaya nama: -- naamaa no.40 occurring in slokam 5. Also naamaa no. 561 occurring in slokam 59 meaning: for 40 - the lotus eyed lord. For 561 - he whose eyes are nourishing his seekers. 27. Om lOhitha akshaaya nama: -- naamaa no. 59 occurring in slokam 7 meaning: the red eyed lord. 28. Om puNdareeka akshaaya nama: -- naamaa no.112 occurring in slokam 12 meaning: the lotus eyed - the eyes of the inhabitants of srivaikuntham [meaning the central figure or head of sri vaikuntham] 29. Om sahasra akshaaya nama: -- naamaa no. 228 occurring in slokam 26 meaning: the 1000 eyed lord - [also in purusha sooktham] 30. Om aravindha akshaaya nama: -- naamaa no.348 occurring in slokam 38 Meaning: one who has eyes as beautiful as lotus. 31. Om mahaa akshaaya nama: -- naamaa no. 355 occurring in slokam 38 meaning: he who has the great garuda as his vehicle or mode of transport. 32. Om vrushaBha akshaaya nama: -- naamaa no. 594 occurring in slokam 63 meaning: one who has dharma as his eyes or the eyes ithemselves are the dharma. 33. Om svakshaaya nama: -- naamaa no.615 occurring in slokam 66 meaning: he who has beautiful charming divine eyes [- sOBhanE puNdareekaaBhE akshiNee asya ithi svaksha:] 34. Om su lOchanaaya nama: -- naamaa no. 800 occurring in slokam 85 Meaning: he whose eyes are charming and bwitching. 35. Om ravi lOchanaaya nama: -- naamaa no.888 occurring in slokam 94 Meaning: one whose eyes are the sun. Other parts like tongue, teeth, heart, the whole body [angam - roopam- moortham], the adorations to the body like ear rings, armlets, horns will be covered in next post.
