Sri Rangapriya Swami is one of the most respected spiritual teachers of South India. He is a master of Indian philosophical traditions, particularly the yoga-shastra. He is renowned for his absolute purity of heart and conduct, which he expresses through a remarkable compassion which transcends traditional boundaries of class and creed. He is incomparably approachable to those who come for advice and he looks at all with an equally compassionate eye. In addition, Sri Swami is a Sanskrit scholar who is widely sought as a speaker by religious and academic societies. Sri Swami has graciously agreed to give a talk on Saturday, October 21, at 7:30 am PDT / 10:30 am EDT. The topic for this discourse will be chosen by Swami and will be announced shortly. This talk will build upon the ideas Swami spoke about in his first discourse, entitled ``Narayana: A Universal Idea of God''. That talk introduced the concept of an all-pervasive, omnipotent God as expressed by the name ``Narayana'' and how it is an idea of universal value and applicability. REMINDER: We have asked Sri Rangapriya Swami to speak in English so that he may reach the widest possible audience. This talk is intended primarily for mature teenagers and young adults who are interested in some religious thinking. Youngsters such as these from all religious backgrounds are invited to listen. Sri Swami is an excellent speaker with an immense proven ability to reach out to youth. Before taking sannyasa, Sri Swami was a Sanskrit professor for many years in Bangalore. Countless people young and old have benefitted from contact with him. HOW TO LISTEN ------------- The talk will be conducted over a tele-conference bridge and can be heard over your telephone by dialing a number which will be provided upon request (see details below on how to register). Sri Swami will speak for about 1 hour. Following this will be 15 minutes of open Questions and Answers. To get instructions on how to join the tele-conference, please send email to rangapriya@ramanuja.org. You will immediately receive a response with the phone number and other details. If for some reason you do not receive a response within 10 minutes, please send me email at mani@ramanuja.org.
