Srimadh Azhagiya singar thiruvadikaLE saraNam Sri RanganAyikA samEtha Sri RangarAjan thiruvadikaLE saraNam thiru adhyayana sEvai - part 6 - kANum nodiyum AnathOr thiru vizhAkOlamE ! Dear bAgawathAs, punnagaiyil piRanthathO pooritthidum poovedi kaNNasaivil kaNdathO virinthidum minvAnam thOraNangaLin thORRamE un thiruth thOLgaLiLE kANum nodiyum AnathOr thiru vizhAkOlamE ! Meaning: When adiyEn see Sri Arangan's puunagai or smile, it occurred that those "flower pot crackers" were born from HIS enchanting smile only. When adiyEn see HIS "kaNNasaivu" or opening or the very slight move of HIS eyes, it was evident that those ever expanding skies with many stars originate and sustain from HIS eyes only. or Those "minvAnam", a type of sparkling firework that goes to the sky and expands into many sparkling floral colors are all originated from this opening of HIS eyes only. Those arched decorated and ornamented festoons that are hung all over to celebrate HIS vaibavam looked as if they all were created from HIS mighty shoulders only. Each and every split second that one spend looking at these features of HIS thirumuga maNdalam are themselves a thiru vizhaA or a special occassion to celebrate HIS vaibavam. ie., Every aspect of a "thiru vizha" are born from celebrating his thiru muga maNdalam itself. In Srirangam there are many mukkiya ursavams and thiru vizhA that are celebrated and such are spread over the entire span of the calendar year. Prior to getting into the details of thiru adhyayana ursavam a list of major ursavams are presented. It is also in order to present a simple reasoning as to why this thiru adhyayanOthsavam is most important festival or thiruvizha of all such. SriRanganathar is known as "nithyOthsava samAyukthar". There are festivals to mark, nithyOthsavam, pakshOthsavam, mAsOthsavam, samvathsarOthsavam for Sri RanganAtha. Many inscriptions on the walls of the temple lists many of the festivals and their detailed accounts. "kOzhil ozhugu", (*) also describes many of these. Srimadh Azhagiya singar thiruvadikaLE saraNam Sri RanganAyikA samEtha Sri RangarAjan thiruvadikaLE saraNam thiruk kudanthai Rengarajan note: (*) It is an important Srivaishanava nool that everyone may want to read. Prof Smt Vasuda nArayanan has done some extensive study on some of these. adiyEN request to her to step in for an additional input that are not covered in these postings. adiyEn welcome Sri Sadagopan to join in glorifying Sri RanganAtha and the thiru adhyayana ursavam for HIM. Within the 5 parts of writing, several of you have written to adiyEn personally (and some have even called over phone) about the huge dose of "rucchi" you are all getting from these posts. adiyEn is particularly pleased with the amount of yougsters who are either prapannas or aspiring prapannas replying to adiyEn. It is all due to Sri Ranganathan's own thiru uLLam only. It is adiyEn's practice that while writing a series such as this, adiyEn donot reply mostly untill the kainkaryam is completed to keep the focus on perumAL and HIS vaibavam only. So please forgive me for not replying to you all individually. But please keep sending your feedback, as each one reflects the impact and shows the pulse. Such will add to the intensity of this series when discussed at the end. ***************************************************************** ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com
