Srimathe Gopaala Desika Maha Desikaya Namaha

On the auspicious day of Tamizh year Vikaari, Maasi Avittam(28.02.1900)
Sri Ubaya Vedantha Thirumalai Echchambadi Mathuranthakam Sri Veeraraghavacharya Mahaadesikan was born in the 'Dwayam Valartha Thirupathi' of Mathuranthakam.  The great swamy after Upanayanam and Panchasamskaaram learnt not only the Vedas but additionally the 4000 Divya Prabantham simultaneously.  He proceeded to Thiruvaiyaaru to learn Nyaaya Sasthram at the Rajah College under U.Ve.Swachchandam Swamy.  Soon he returned to Mathuranthakam to learn under Sri.Rajagopalachariar Swamy(known popularly as Garudapuram Swamy Sri Srinivasa Mahaadesikan) and mastered skillfully Sri.Bhasyam, Gita Bhasyam of Sri Raamanuja, Srimad Rahasyatraya Saara of Sri.Desikar and Arayirappadi of Thirukurugai pillan.  He also learnt Tatvamukta Kalapam from Sri.U.Ve.Goshteepuram Sowmyanarayana Mahadesikan.  With these skills this Mahaswami started teaching at the Rajah's college Nyaya, Vedantha and Mimamsa for 30 years.   

Swamy retired in 1955 and settled down at the Bhooloka Vaikuntham, Srirangam and and continued to be associated with the Sri Ranganatha Paduka Vidyalaya as a teacher.    Swamy's prodigious memory, his great knowledge and powerful debates used to immerse many in the ocean of Bhakthi and Anushtaanam.  Soon Swamy taught at Srimad Ubaya Vedantha Prachara Sabha in Srirangam(founded by Sri Tridandi Sriman Narayana Ramanuja Jeer Swami in 1963).  Recognizing all this the Indian President Late.Sri.Neelam Sanjeeva Reddy bestowed honour upon himself by issuing a Certificate of Honour to this great scholar in 1981.   


This Swamy has written in several Sri Vaishnava journals(Sri.Lakshmi Nrusimha Priya, Sri Vedantha Dipika, Sri Ranganatha Paaduka) and is associated with tamizh translations/commentaries of Sri.Desika's Ahumana Adyaya, Nyaasa Tilakam, Githartha Sangraha, Abhiti Stava , Sri Sthuthi and more.  

He also translated great tamizh works like Siriya Thirumadal of Thirumangai Azhvaar into Sanskrit.   

This great Swamy's Thirunakshathiram is going to be GRAND LAUNCH OF THE MILLENIUM with great stars starring the event including,
His Godliness Srimad Andavan Sri Gopaala Desika Mahadesikan, Sri Poundareekapuram Andavan Ashramam, Srirangam who agreed to chair this event and co-chaired by U.Ve.Vidwan Agnihothram Ramanuja Thaathachariar swamy.  They would participate and oversee the following events at Sri Poundareekapuram Srimad Andavan Ashram,
1.Recitation of Vedas, 4000, Sri Bhashyam, Sri Gita Bhasyam, Srimad Rahasya Traya Saaram, Bhagavad Vishayam
2.Vidwat Sadas for 5 days
3.Discourses by eminent scholars in the evenings
4.Publishing the collected works of Sri Madhuranthakam Swamy
5.Tadiyaaradhana for all participants for all the 5 days
6.Presenting atleast Rs.1000 as Sambhavana & Travel expenses to Yatishrestas

The total cost is estimated around Rs.10 lakhs.
