I knew SrI agnihotram svAmi personally very well. In fact I had the good fortune to visit him the last time I went to India (I thought in December of last year). I am sorry to know that he is a vaikunTha vAsi now. He was a revolutionary in a sense. I had the good fortune to be blessed by him because I had been a tutor to his children in their young days, and was a tenant in their house in my younger days. It is true that none of his sons are followers of the vaidIka sampradAyam. I believe he has a brother who lives in Kumbakonam in Iyengar Street who might be following the tradition. I believe he did not achieve the same level of recognition as SrI agnihotram svAmi. The latter had lots of followers in the Western world, and was fluent in English in addition to his erudition in the veda-s and SAstra-s. I personally have lost a great mahAn whose kaTAksham I was fortunate to have while he lived, and am sure will continue to have for the rest of my life. -dAsan kr*shNamAcAryan
