From the Bhakti List Archives

Thanks for the various informative posts on the 5 forms of the Lord. The Para form is defined in the dhyana Shloka of the ashtAkshara mantram: Savyam pAdyam prasArya shritadurita haram dakshinam kunchayitva jAnunAdhya savyEtaram itaram bhoja nAgabhogE nidhAyE I pashyAd bahu dwayena pratibhaTashamane dhArayan shankha chakrE devibhushAdijushTo janayatu jagatAm sharma VaikunTha nAtha: II A translation of this verse is most welcome. The vibhava forms of the Lord are the ones most commonly talked about and meditated about. Archa forms are the ones most commonly worshipped. Yogis and those trained in Aradhana kramam worship the antaryAmin. But exactly what role do the Vyuhas play in our daily lives either consciously or unconsciously? The only time I chant their names is during the archana and in bhuta shuddhi prior to that. Would Sri Krishna Kalale who got Bhuta shuddhi upadesam from Srimad Azhagiya Singar explain the significance of the vyoohas in the context of bhoota shuddhi? adiyen jaganath.
