Hello everybody I have been recently included in this mailing list my Sri Mani and Sri Dileepan. I would first like to thank them both. here is a brief intro of myself : My name is Ramesh Sarangapani and I am from Madras. I am currently doing my Ph.D at the University of Delaware on health effects of air pollution. I am from an orthodox Sri Vaishnava family. We moved from Maturantakam to Madras around 60 years back. My great grandfather was an Adhyapika at the Maturantakam Patashala and is supposed to have taught the 44th jeer (Sri Vedhantha Desika Yathindhra Mahadesikan swami). We are followers the Ahobila madam. During my school days i was taught parts of the Divyaprabandam and some of Sri Desikan's works. Other than this i did little reading on my own. Only after i came to this country (in fall '93) did i feel an urge to learn more and consequently started reading the Divyaprebandam etc. I had my Samasrayanam done at the Malolan-Sannidhi in Mel-Ahobilam by the 45th jeer (Srivan Satakopa Sri Narayana Yathindhra Mahadesikan) a couple of months before i came to US. I would categorize myself as a total illiterate when it comes to Visistadvaita philosophy. My primary reason for joining this group is to learn from all of you. Srimate Ramanujaya Namaha Ramesh
