thirumangai mannan-kArthigayil kArthigai NAL

A thriu mozhi pAsuram on eve of thiru mangai mannan's thirunakshathiram.

periya thiru mozhi 11-3-5

'thammaiyE nALum vaNangith thozhuvArku, thammaiyE vokka aruL seivar-AdhalAl,

thammaiyE nALum vaNangith thozhudhu irainji, thammaiyE paRRA manath-enRum vaithOmE'.

Those devotees who neither even think of other deities or desire for other ends, the Lord grants them similarity (sAmyam) to Him. Hence, we worship Him day in and day out and deem Him as the ultimate resort for us. 

That is, thirumangai AzhwAr prescribes the following.

1. Be a devotee to Him.

2. Be a devotee to Him alone.

3. Be a devotee to attain Him alone and not for anything else.

4. The Lord Grant s your desire - 'sAmyam"

5. Having attained that, continue to worship Him day in and dayout.

6. Thus consider Him as a means and End - upAyam and upEyam.
