Dear Malolan Cadambi

sorry for answering so late.
There is an ongoing diskussion also within the VaikhAnasa fold whether or
not the text Sajjanasambhava (also Sajjanavaibhava) was written by Vedanta
Dezika or not.

The late Pandit Rompicarla Parthasarathi Bhattacarya was of the opinion that
this text was not written by him; Pandit Krishnamacharyulu from Narsapur
(Andhra Pradesh) who translated the work into Telugu is of the opinion that
VedAnta Dezika was the author.

I myself only have the Telugu translation, but manuscripts of the original
text in Sanskrit are said to be held by athe GOML in Madras.

The VaikAnasa scholar ZrInivAsa DIkSita (whose dates might be after 1369 and
before 1750?) quotes the text in his VaikhAnasamahimamanjarI as containing a
VaikhAnasotpattiprakAra, that is a portion of the origin of the VaikhAnasa
school. SudararAja from IllatUr, also a vaikhAnasa scholar who lived in the
late 19th and early 20th centuries states in his life-description of ZrInivAsa
DIkSita that he comments on "VedAnta Dezika's work Sajjanasambhava".

I would be grateful to learn more about this text an its background.

Best regards,
Ute
