Post 17 Dear sri vaishNava perunthagaiyeer, In this post, we will see the naamaas which we use daily many times viz while performing the aachamanam featured in Sree vishNu sahasra naamavaLi. So this post carries the common thread of "aachamana manthra naamaas". In particular, these naamaas are recited many times repeatedly on four occasions in a day, by bhakthaas, namely 1. during the puNdra dhaaraNam - carrying the act of putting the thirumaN 2. during the thri kaala sandhya vandhanam. So we can recall how many naamaas we are repeating daily. 1. Om achyuthaaya nama: -- naamaa no. 101 occurring in slOkam 11 meaning: who is never separated. also naamaa no. 320 occurring in slOkam 34 meaning: chyutha means fallen or modified - achyutha- never fallen, who has not got any modification also naamaa no. 557 occurring in slOkam 59 meaning: he who never slips down from eternal form "yasmaath na chyuthapoorva aham achyuthasthEna karmaNaa - I have never ever fallen before from my real nature. Therefore I am achyutha 2. Om an anthaaya nama: -- naamaa no.665 occurring in slOkam 70 meaning: the infinite and unlimited. 3. Om gOvindhaaya nama: -- naamaa no. 189 occurring in slOkam 20. Also naamaa no. 543 occurring in slOkam 58 meaning: for 189 - the recipient of words of praise. for 543 - the rescuer of the earth. [gO - earth, vEdhaas, cows] 4. Om kEsavaaya nama: -- naamaa no.23 occurring in slOkam 2 -- naamaa no.654 occurring in slOkam 69 meaning: for 23- one who has lovely locks of hair. For 654 - the destroyer of grief. 5. Om naaraayaNaaya nama: -- naamaa 246 occurring in slOkam 26 Meaning: the supporter of hosts of living beings. 6. Om maaDhaavaaya nama: -- naamaa 73 occurring in slOkam 8 Also naamaa no. 169 occurring in slOkam 18 Also naamaa no. 741 occurring in slOkam 78 Meaning: - for 73 - lord of lakshmi For 169 - propounder of knowledge of supreme being For 741 - the consort of lakshmi 7. Om gOvindhaaya nama: please refere above. 8. Om vishNave nama: -- naamaa no. 2 occurring in slOkam 1 Also naamaa no. 259 occurring in slOkam 28 Also naamaa no. 663 occurring in slOkam 70 Meaning: for 2 - one who pervades For 259- the pervader For 663 - who pervades the entire universe 9. Om maDhu soodhanaaya nama: -- naamaa no.74 occurring in slOkam 8 meaning: the slayer of madhu the asura. 10. Om thrivikramaaya nama: -- naamaa no. 533 occurring in slOkam 56 Meaning: the huge - so big - he who traverses or pervades the 3 vEdhaas. 11. Om vaamaanaaya nama: -- naamaa no. 154 occurring in slOkam 17 Meaning: the dwarf 12. Om sree Dharaaya nama: -- naamaa no 617 occurring in slOkam 65 Meaning: he who bears lakshmi within himself. 13. Om hrusheekEsaaya nama: -- naamaa no. 47 occurring in slOkam 6 Meaning: the controller of sense organs. 14. Om padhma naaBhaaya nama: -- naamaa no.48 occurring in slOkam 6. Also naamaa no.198 occurring in slokam 21. Also naamaa no. 348 occurring in slokam 38. meaning: he who has a lotus in his naval. 15. Om dhaama udharaaya nama: -- naamaa no. 369 occurring in slOkam 40 meaning: he who has all the world in his belly- who has the rope mark in belly because of mother as in krishna avathaaram. Naamaas 1 to 15 are part of the aachamana manthram. The naamaas 1 to 16 are used during the thirumaN kaappu and hence the 16th is also given here. 16. Om vaasu dhEvaaya nama: -- naamaa no. 334 occurring in slOkam 36 Also naamaa no. 700 occurring in slOkam 74 Also naamaa no. 714 occurring in slOkam 76 meaning: for 334 - who pervades the world and plays. For 700 - son of vasudhEva. For 714 - presiding diety of sri vasudhEva manthra.
