Dear Krishna,

Thank you very for your comments on the commentary
about the Gita. It is good to know that you have been
conducting research on Gita for decades.

The last verse in the 6th Chapter yoginam api
sarvesham madgatenantaratmana shraddhavan bhajate yo
mam sa me yuktatamo matah actually indicates that of
all the yogis, one who is always fixed in devotion or
who always remembers and thinks of the lord is the
greatest of all not one who meditates predominantly
for self realization and the highest yogi is the one
who meditates on paramatma / Lord Krishna. The focus
is fixed in devotion not astanga yoga.

In the 6th Chapter Arjuna rejected the astanga yoga
described by Lord Krishna yo yam yogam tvayah prokta
samyena madhusudanah......... and then cancalam hi
manah krishna pramati balaved dhryam tashayam nigraham
manye vayur eva suduskaram ( please check for the
right spelling)The yoga that you taught me is
impratical and hard to execute as the mond is
restless.

Lord Krishna concludes the 6th Chapter by saying that
of all yogis one who fixes his mind or who thinks and
remembers about him is the greatest. In other words
thinking and remembering about the Lord is bhakti.
Prahlad Maharaja defines bhakti as srvanam kirtanam
visnu smaranam..........

Bhakti yoga is recommended for this age of kali
according to scriptures. krishna also declares that
only by devotional service that he will be known.
bhaktaya mam abijanati...... after many many births,
one who is in knowledge surrenders to me...... bahunam
janmanam ante jnavam mam prapayante vasudevam sarvam
iti sa mahatma sudhurlubah( please check for the right
spelling). Bhagavad Gita as It Is focuses more on
Bhakti yoga.

I am not an an expert in Gita or religion is not my
field of expertise. However over the last few years I
have been reading the vedic literatures such as Gita,
Srimad Bhagavatham, Mahabaratha and Valmiki Ramayana.
At present I am trying to focus on application of the
principles of Gita in human resource management and
leadership in organisations.

Other acaryas in group can participate and give their
opinions. We all can learn from one another.

Regards

Bala
