Dear Bhagavathas, Another way of looking at who is how much Brahmin is as per Lord Krishna in the Gita (Ch 18, Verses 42-22). The basic characteristics of the four castes are given in these verses. This definition is more fundamental and universal. Brahmin: Tranquiliy Restraint Austerity Purity Patience Uprightness Knowledge Discrimination Religious faith Kshatriya: Heroism Majesty Firmness Skill Not fleeing in battle Generosity Lordly spirit Vaishya: Plowing cow-herding Trade Sudra: Service Rarely we will find individuals who are 100% this or that. In a given society, people with higher %Sudra trait (Service category people) are most numerous followed by Vaishyas, Kshatriys and Brahmanas. Daasan, K, Sreekrishna Tatachar
