thrimsa thrikOdi vasu rudra divAkarAthi
dEvAthi dEvagaNa santhatha sevyamAnam
ambOja sambava chathur mugakeeyamAnam
vanthE sayAnamiha bogini sArngapANim
            ----   Sri KumbakOna mahAthmiya mangaLa slOkam

Simple meaning:
This   lord   Sri sArngapAni  of  Thiru kudanthai is *ever* being
worshipped by all the eight vasus, 11 rudrAs, tweleve suryAs, two
aswini dEvathAs, 330 billion dEvAs, and asurAs.  In  order  to do
this nitya kainkaryam to Sri SArngarAjan, all of  them are  doing
nityA vAsam  all the time at the  holy feet of Sri Aravamudan and
are ever present here. ***

        It is a   bAgyam for everyone to join this kainkaryam.  It
is not merely termed as once in a life time kainkaryam. In fact it
is a kainkaryam one can do once in many lives. So I urge  everyone
to particiapate in this kainkaryam for Sri Amudhan. adiyEn grew up
under Sri Amuthan's  holy feet, and adiyEn is still  a  native  of
this  holy  place  "thiru  kudanthai".  adiyEn would assemble some
words for Sri ArAvamudhan in the next few days to come. The temple
was robbed in 1995 and jeweleries worth of 3.5 million rupees were
stolen.  Though  the  robber  was arrested, many of the jeweleries
were not recovered. After this incident, many bakthAs gathered  to
mobilise efforts to replace all jeweleries and as well do  a  mahA
samprOkshanam for this temple. adiyEn's  uncle  Sri  L.Rajagopalan
nephew of 43rd Jeer of Sri Ahobila muth, is a member of this thiru
paNi committee. He had asked me to raise funds for this kainkaryam.
Even prior to my starting these series of postings many have  come
forward to contribute to this kainkaryam already. Many have agreed
to send the money soon. I request every one of  you to  join  this
kainkaryam and receive Sri Amuthan's blessings. The  kumbAbishEkam
is  scheduled  for  June  30,  1999.  We  in  intend  to  send the
proceedings by June 15th 1999 to Kumbakonam. We will keep  writing
untill then. In  addition  to  Sri  VS  and myself Sri Murali will
write on Sri  kOmaLa dhandakam  a special  srisukthi on Sri komaLa
vaLLi thAyAr. So please  enjoy reading  the many postings that are
to come on Sri  Amuthan  and  contribute to this  kainkaryam on or
before June 15 1999.

        Many of you must have known that a few srivaishnavas  have
started a noble organization known as SVSS, to  do  kainkaryam  to
Srivaishanava temples, mutts  and  bAgawathAs.  Among  many  other
roles they intend to undertake, serving as a conduit to send money
to divya desams in India is one of the tasks of SVSS.  Please  use
the following instructions and send your cheques to  SVSS  to  the
following address of Smt. Nagu Satyan. The  money  sent  for  this
kainkaryam may be entitled for an appropriate  tax  shelter  where
applicable.
