Darwinian theory

Dear Bhagavatottamas, >From what little I know about it,both the basic concepts of the Darwinian Theory go against the concepts of Vedanta. 1."Evolution" in both its meanings of "species evolving out of one another in a series" and "things getting better at each stage" is not acceptable. In our view Satya Yuga comes first and there is steady physical and moral deterioration until we reach the rockbottom at the end of Kali Yuga and logically enough there has to be chaos. Further our concept is one of "Simultaneous Creation"which is one of the basic arguments used by EmberumAnAr in SrI-BhAshya for defeating the TArkika theory of "anumAna" as the mode of proving the existence of God. 2.Secondly the concept of "Natural Selection" would be absurd for VedAntins; Nature being inert cannot perform the function of selection which can only be done by a sentient intelligent being. As G.K.Chesterton remarks, scientists ascribe all the charactristics of God to Nature in order to escape accepting the concept of God! EmberumAnAr TiruvaDigaLE SaraNam! adiyen BHARAT
