SrI rangarAja charaNau SaraNam prapadyE. Dear BhAgavatas, My humble obeisances to you all. Though the issue reg. the comments made by the friend of one of the members against our sampradAyam is almost closed, I would like to say that it is not right on anyone's part to argue that our Urdhva puNdra dhAraNam is not of Vedic origin. There is one "kAtyAyanIya svEtamrudUrdhvapuNdrOpanishat", which exclusively deals with this subject. This upanishat is of Vedic origin only, as SrI anandALwAn, who is a direct disciple of SrI rAmAnuja, often refers to it as "kAtyAyanIya Sruti". Also this upanishat was quoted by BhagavadrAmAnuja while countering the arguments of the Saivas regarding the "vishNutvam" of the Lord of seven hills.
