Geetavataaram:-

Arjuna was beset by grief because of lack of knowledge of the difference
between the body and the soul. Yet, Arjuna was talking like one who
understood the difference between the body and the soul, between what is
right and what is wrong, standing between the two armies doing
absolutely nothing (when he had come there to fight and the conches
signalling commencement of battle had already been blown). The Supreme
Lord and controller of the senses, Hrishikesa looked at Arjuna with an
incredulous smile and did the Geeta Upadesam starting from Chapter 2
verse 12 until chapter 18 verse 66 (Sarva dharmaan parityajya maam ekam
saraNam vraja I aham tvaa sarva paapEbhyo mokshayishyaami ma suchah:
II). Even though Sri Krishna started speaking with verse 11 of chapter
2, this sloka is considered as part of the prelude, since it is a
derisive sloka, which pulls the rug from under the feet of Arjuna's
convictions, and forces him to pay attention.

Derisive sloka:-

"Arjuna! From your speech, it appears that you have knowledge about the
difference between the body adn the sou. However, when you worry for
the well being of Bhishma and others, it appears that you lack the
discrimination between the body and the soul.", says Sri Krishna.
