Someone asked about what the honorofic 'prati-vAdi-bhayankaram' stands for. The simple 'vyutpatti' is "formidable to adversary". This was the title conferred on Sri Hasti-giri-nAthar aNNA by Sri Vedanta Desika's son, Sri Varada-nAyanAr. aNNA was of Srivatsa-gOtram and muDumbai descent, and was counted among the ashTa-dig-gajam disciples of Sri Manavala Mamuni. My 3-part new millennium write-up on prati-vAdi-bhayankaram aNNan should be available in the bhakti-list archives. aDiyEn rAmAnuja-dAsan T.S.
