Mukkoor swami
From the Bhakti List Archives

Bhaktas: Adiyen,Srinivasa Sarangan, joined the Bhakti group last October. It has been a great experience in knowing so many aspects of Vaishnavism from several learned scholars. I only wish I had joined the group much earlier. It was indeed a shocking news to hear about the passing away of Sri Mukkoor swamiji. I have heard a lot about him and read some of his articles in Sr Nrisimha Priya. It was indeed a great privilage for me and my wife to see the great scholar when he made an unscheduled visit to Balaji temple complex here in Nerul,New Mumbai early last month. The occasion was the Samprokshanam of the newly-built Sri Laksmmi Nrisimha temple in the Balaji temple complex, which incidently is developing fast into a magnificent religious centre. The swamiji gave a discourse on Lord Lakshmi Nrisimha for about an hour and the big gathering of devotees was spellbound by his command over Tamil and Sankrit. The swamiji went into trance at the end of discourse and was in that state for more than an hour in front of perumal sannadhi. Many of us felt that Sri Lakshmi Nrisimhsa Himself had descended over the new temple to bless the devotees. My wife and I can never forget the incident. We were looking forward to some other occasions to listen to his discourses. Hence the news of the swamiji reaching Acharyan Thiruvadi suddenly last week at Kakinada is stunning. Strange are the ways of God and we can only hope and pray that we will continue to have the blessings of the great soul.
