Sree Raama Namaha:
Respected Bhaktaas,
At the outset please accept my apologies for my ignorance. This
question reg. Kaikeyi has been nagging me for quite some time and I
request the learned members of this group to please help clarify. As
I was reading some older posts related the translations of slokams
from Ramayana, Kaikeyi was mentioned as an evil person. In my mind
she is not an evil person but only someone who made a mistake. It
was only due to her that Sree Ramamchandra went to the forests and
eventually rid this earth of the Raakshasaas and more importantly
demonstrated to mankind the most exquisite qualities of Divinity.
For me Ramayana cannot have been any other way. Nothing else can
ever be better than the way it turned out. If Sree Ramachandra had
continued to be a King instead, we would not have had much to learn
from Ramamyana. This was all because of Queen Kaikeyi. So then why
is she portrayed as such an evil person? Wasn't she merely doing as
Lord Vishnu had planned for anyway (Divine Will)? The great poets
who wrote the great verses regarding her cannot be wrong. Where is
my thinking going wrong? I request the learned members to please
help me understand this correctly.
