Dear Malolan, I had exactly the same doubt a couple of months back. No doubt many people argue that Sri Rudra Prasna is actually about Narasimha, but I was never convinced. I asked one of the most respected scholars within the tradition this very same question, and here is the literal reply I got: * Sri Rudra PraSna is about Siva only. But while chanting it * as in the case of all mantras one should keep in * mind the Lord immanent in that DevatA. In other words, the mantras are actually about Siva, as the descriptive epithets indicate. But, as always, what should be kept in mind is the fact that the Paramatma is the indwelling inner controller of all deities, and it is to Him that these mantras are all ultimately addressed. ramanuja dasa, Mani -------------------------------------------------------------- - SrImate rAmAnujAya namaH - To Post a message, send it to: bhakti-list@yahoogroups.com Archives: http://ramanuja.org/sv/bhakti/archives/ Your use of Yahoo!
