Dhanyadivasam , Panguni Uttharam and other events at Sri Ranganatha Temple

Dear Aathma BhandhUs: 

After a decade of dedicated work by many BhakthAs ,
Sri RanganAthA Temple is at the final phase of 
Vaidhika karmAs leading upto MahA SamprOkshanam 
on May 27,2001.

The first event in the series leading upto 
May 27 is scheduled for April 6 , which happens 
to be the great day of Panguni Uttharam .This is 
the blessed day , when the Srirangam Dhivya Dampathis 
blessed AchArya RaamAnujA with their "sErthi Sevai" ,  
listened to the three Gadhyams--SaraNAgathi, Sriranga
and Sri Vaikunta Gadhyams--and responded with
alacrity to Udayavar's plea for Prapatthi.

AchArya RaamAnujA appealed first to the embodiment of 
Mercy , Sri RanganAyaki , the Mother of the Universe 
and pleaded for acceptance of his Prapatthi:

"DEva-DEva Dhivya MahishIm Akhila-Jagan-Maatharam 
(asmann Maatharam) asaraNya SaraNyAM ananya SaraNa:
SaraNamaham PrapdhyE "

Our Most Compassionate Mother responded :" asthu tE !
tayaiva SARVAM SampathsyathE!"

Then AchArya RaamAnujA felt reassured and turned 
to Lord RanganAtha seated next to Sri RanganAyaki , 
enjoyed His dhivya Soundharyam from head to foot 
and appealed fervently :

"ApAra KaaruNya Souseelya Vaathsalya OudhArya 
aisvarya Soundharya MahOdadhE ! --asEsha lOka 
SaraNya!-- Akila Jagath Swamin! asmath Swamin! 
Sriman! NaarAyana! asaraNya SaraNya! ananya SaraNya!
Tvath PaadhAravindha-yugalam SaraNamaham PrapadhyE !
--" DaasabhUtha: SaraNAgathOsmi TavAsmi Daasa:"
ithi VakthAram maam ThAraya !"

Sri RanganAthA was moved by the Parama Bhakthi of 
AchArya RaamAnujA , turned towards His Consort's side
and together the Dhivya dampathis accepted their 
dear one's prapatthi.

Lord RanganAthA did not want to miss the company of
the great AchArya RaamAnujA from then on and commanded 
him to stay  right there at Srirangam next to Him and
His Consort with the words:

" YaavaccharIra-paatham , athraiva SrirangE SukhamAsva!" 

After the shaking of the mortal coils , Lord of Srirangam
assured His parama Bhakthan that he will perform nithya
kaimkaryam to Him at Sri Vaikuntam aseshasEshathiakarathiroopa 
NithyakinkarO Bhavishyasi).

On this Panguni Uttharam day(April 6) ,that prapatthi of 
AchArya RaamAnujA will be reenacted just as at Srirangam .
THERE ARE OTHER EVENTS PLANNED FOR THIS AUSPICIOUS DAY.

EVERY ONE IS REQUESTED TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS VIKRAMA
SAMVATHSARA PANGUNI UTTHARAM DAY AND RECEIVE THE BLESSINGS 
OF THE DHIVYA DAMPAHTIS.

Dear Bhagavathas:

As many are probably aware, with the grace of the Lord
and that of Srimad Azhagiya Singar, the Mahasamprokshanam for
Sri Ranganatha Temple will be held on May 27, 2001.  The
first event that will lead up to the five day function
(May 23 - 27th) is on April 6th.  On April 6th, Dhanyadivasam
for all the moola vighrahas will be performed.  All the
devotees present will have an opportunity to personally
take part in this auspecious ceremony.  That day being
Panguni Uttiram, the day will begin with thirumanjanam for
serthi, with veda/dhivya prabhanda parayanam in the morning.
Dhanyadivasam is planned for 2 to 6 p.m. in the afternoon.
In the evening we have a music program by Smt. Malathy Sampath
and a young gifted star Pavithra Sundar.  All are welcome.
Please spread the word and have everyone come and take
part in this most auspecious ceremony.  For more details
