Sri:
Dearest Sisters and Brothers,
When parakalanayaki's mother lamented for her darling daughter's getting
thinner and losing bangles, the AzhwAr (Parakalanayaki) looks at her bangles
and cries showing her wrists where she lost the bangles. Excellent ten!
1. For the sarvEshwaran, the greatest, Parama upakaarakan, who had lifted
the huge Govardhana Mountain, with His mountain like shoulders; who is so
manly with His Thirutthuzhaay garland; who stays permanently at
ThirukkaNNapuram, surrounded by ponds. - For Him, I have lost my beautiful
wrist bangles. ("varaiyeduttha perumAnukku izhandhEn varivaLaiyE")
2. The most victorious Lord KaNNan- who stays permanently at
ThirukkaNNapuram, full of beautiful tall buildings, impregnated with
gemstones; who reclines on the striped lined bodied- AnanthAzhwAn and has
His YoganithrA; who broke the tusker of Kuvalayaapeetam elephant - For such
SarvEshwaran- I have lost my heavy beautiful wrist bangles. ("kariveruva
maruppositthaaRkku izhandhEn gana vaLaiyE..")
3. For that Emperumaan, who resides permanently at ThirukkaNNapuram, who had
killed the huge seven bulls; who had alleviated the disease of the cool Moon
once; who has red lotus like eyes; who has the quality of "Vaathsalyam", I
have lost my tight wrist dense bangles, falling off easily.
4. For the Lord, who hah stooped Himself to such a Sowlabhyam and allowed
Himself tied to a mortar, by the large eyed YashOdha PiraaTTi; who went
crawling in between the two marudha trees and befelled them; - the One who
has His nithya vaasam at ThirukkaNNapuram- I have lost my golden bangles for
Him.
5. The PerumAN, who resides permanently at ThirukkaNNapuram, where Brahmins
perform their karmas, grooming the shining agni, reciting the mantras with
loud voice. - The PerumAn, who had run with the fear of being caught by His
chasing mother YashOda with a stick and anger in her eyes, - who had eaten
the curd, and smeared the butter all over His face (for concocting a story,
in case He gets caught), for that Greatest Sowlabhyan, I have lost my
bangles.
6. For the SarvEshawaran, who had torn open the strong chest of HiraNyan,
with His sharp beautiful nails, when Hiaranyan shouted angrily at his son
Prahalada (the greatest devotee of Emperumaan), who stays permanently at
ThirukkaNNapuram;- fro Him , I have lost my shining, lustrous bangles.
7. For the SarvEshawaran, who had swallowed the vast space, the expanded
Universe; the Sun, the Moon, the direction, etc,, during PraLayam, and
brought them back again- who resides always at ThirukkaNNapuram- For Him, I
have lost my shining wrist bangles.
8. For the Lord, who has the red lotus in His naabhi; the One who reclines
on the bed of ThiruvananthAzhwAn on the ocean; the One who stays at
ThirukkaNNapuram, I have lost my wrist bangles.
9. Periya PiraaTTi- is the most feminine, most beautiful with long slender
bamboo like shoulders, the one who has ever youthful appearance with tender
breasts; Due to Her stay at the strong divine chest, Emperumaan is blessed
with the greatest wealth. This Emperumaan stays permanently at
ThirukkaNNapuram. He is the SarvEshswaran; sarava yagnan; Sarva vyaapi; He
has thousand divine names. He has the greatest caliber of reclining on the
thousand-headed Adhiseshan. For Him, I have lost my dense wrist bangles.
10. This ten is on the Emperumaan who has His Nithya vaasam at
ThirukkaNNapuram. The composer is the king of Thiruvaali, Kaliyan, liked by
one and all. Due to His krupai, he (ThirumangaiAzhwAr) has composed this ten
in chaste Tamil. Those who recite this will not have any of their sins dare
approach them.
ThirumangaiAzhwAr ThiruvadigaLE SaraNam
