SrI: Shrimate Shri Lakshmi Nrusimha Parabrahmane Namaha: Shrimate Shri Seetha Ramachandra Parabrahmane Namaha: Shrimate Shri Ramanujaya Namaha: Shrimate Nigamantha Maha Desikaya Namaha: Shrimate Shrivan Satagopa Shri Narayana Yateendra Mahadesikaya Namaha: Lord Vishnu along with consort Sri or Lakshmi occupies the Supreme position. The importance of our Mata is so great that our system of thought itself is referred to as 'Sri Vaishnavism'. Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Vishnu have divine discussions on the well being of all. As a result of the discussion, Goddess Mahalakshmi, with incomprehensible greatness, out of her concern to us taught the philosophy of our system to Shri Vishvaksena. Shri Vishvaksena is the head of the Nithya soories and Muktas. The place where they reside is called Bhoga Vibhuti, Aprakrata lokam or Sri Vaikuntam. Below this is the Prakrata Lokam or Leela Vibhuti. There are crores of Andas, with each Anda having 14 Lokas. Baddas, bound by the ropes of punya and papa live here. The Leela and Bhoga vibhuti behave as per the rules and regulations of Divya Dampati's. Next to them Shri Vishvaksena supervises it. Thus, every thing is under the control of the 'Senkol Atchi' of Shri Vishvaksena. Our Divya Dampati instructed Shri Vishvaksena to impart the Tatva, Hitha and Purusharta to Shri Nammalvar. Because of this great upakaram done by Shri Vishvaksena, we worship him as our Acharya. In our Guruparampara, Lord Vishvaksena forms the bridge between the celestial gurus and the gurus, who appeared in the human form. So, why is it that, the Divya Dampati's don't come directly, why is it that we have Acharya's in human form who give us the upadesham? Well, that's again because of us. Even if the Divya Dampati come and say that they are the ultimate realities, and that they can grant liberation, most of us will not take it. Just as a diamond is used to cut another diamond so also a jivatma can be easily corrected by another Jivatma. Swami Desika offers his pranams to Shri Vishvaksena thus: Vande vaikuntha-senanyam Devam sutravati-sakham ! Yadvetrasikharaspande Vishvamethad-vyavasthitam !! Let me pay my humble adorations to the Lord Vishvaksena (Senaimudaliyar), the commander-in-chief of all the celestial forces of Lord Sriman Narayana, who has for his beloved consort Goddess Sutravati, and at the movement of whose vetra (Whip) -tip this whole cosmos is just established as what it is. When Lord Vishvaksena was instructed by Divya Dampati's to teach our system of Philosophy to Shri Nammalvar, Goddess Sutravati urged him to do it at once. So, as a sign of gratitude for this great help, Swami Desika salutes to both Lord Visvaksena and Goddess Sutravati. All the hindrances in the way of Mumukshus in attaining Moksham, will be removed by Shri Vishvaksena. ...To be continued! dEsikan tiruvaDigaLE SaraNam Praveena nAmni Ramanuja dasi 17th Jun 1999
