thoo nilA muRRam - part 34  - Sri sOma chandha and Sri ArA amutha Vaibavam

Dear bAgawathAs,

	While  the  thapas  of Sri kOmaLa valli thAyAr and Sri hEma
maharishi continued for several years, it was time for the Lord  to
bless.  On  a  holy "thai"  month  that is known as maha sankramana
puNNiya kAlam (*), and it was the birth of the month (mAsa puRappu).
It was the  high noon when the Sun was right  above appearing as  a
kainkarya barAL. It was vrushaba lagnam. Our Lord Sri  ArA  amuthan
and  the  Sri  Vaideeka  vimAnam  that  is  also known as "Sri sOma
chandam", took off from Sri praNavAkAra vimAnam and Sri Ranganathan
due to their own free will and marched eastwards to thiru kumbakOna
mahA kshEthram. Many  dEvas,  BrahmA  and  ShivA  all  appeared all
through   the   way  with  many  samarpanams  and  mariyAdhais  and
ubachArams.

	Listening to the song of  the  Athmans  of  them  Lord came
rushing with HIS entire nArAyaNa sEnai and HIS parivArams. Lord Sri
ArA amuthan appeared   extremely  brighter and the intensity of the
light was equivalent to billions suns(**). With such a thirumEni HE
came with HIS  full gear  in  HIS thiru  thEr  that was  pulled  by
many elephants and  horses  and gave a darshan to Sri kOmaLa  valli
thAyAr and Sri hEma maharishi on the banks of poRRAmARai pushkaraNi.

	This poRRAmaRai is the pushkaraNi that is also known as the
"Avi" of Amirtham. The boomi  there  is  wet with the amirtham. Sri
kOmaLa valli  thAyAr was  immensely  happy to  join  with  Sri  ArA
amuthan. Sri hEma  maharishi was also extremely happy that his wish
is getting fulfilled. Lord Sri ArA amuthan was very pleased to  see
HIS  prANa  vallabai,  Sri   kOmaLa  valli  thAyAr.  HE immediately
accepted HER at HIS thiru mArbu in one thiru uruvam. HE  also  made
HER to appear  in  another  thiru  uruvam and made HER to be at the
side of Sri  hEma  maharishi.  Sri  ArA amuthan  then requested Sri
hEma maharishi to offer HER in kaNNigA dhAnam to HIM. With  a great
sense of "parama Anandham",   Sri  hEma  rishi  also  offerred  the
kaNNigai Sri kOmaLa valli thAyAr to Sri ArA amuthan  in   the  very
same lagnam, by observing all necesary protocols. All the dEvAs and
brhamA  and  ShivA  and Sun celebrated this marriage with great joy
and the poRRAmaRai and the whole city was filled with  the  flowers
they poured  in worshipping this divya dampathis from the sky.

saraNam

(*) thai is the holiest month for Sri Sooryan.  It  is  also  to be
noted that this perumAL was first in the possession of Sri  Sooryan
and HIS kulam for several kalpAs. Regarding the HIGH noon,  Is it a
full Sun that mattered for brightness ? NO. It is also important to
note that Sri Soorya is at his best during the time of  HIGH   noon
such that Sri Sooryan can have a  full darshan of the  Lord !!  The
Lord's anantha kOdi soorya prakAsam is  more  than  enough  to  lit
up the entire universe and  if anything beyond. Lord also fulfilled
Sri Sooryan's  wish by coming and staying in Sri bAshkara kshEthram
forever.

(**) To marry Sri Rukmini pirAtti Lord went in HIS chariot but  all
alone. But in thiru kudanthai vaibavam, HE came  in  HIS  celestial
chariot itself with all HIS suRRam and HIS entire troops  as  well.
Even today one can see this chariot here and imagine this scene.
