Dear bAgawathAs,

	The northern veethi is the  famous  big  street  or  periya
kadai veethi. This  veethi  has  many  moderen shops and as well as
banks, well equipped loding facilities,  hotels etc.  Sri Ramanujar
sannithi is situated in the corner of western and northern  street.
Sri Ahobila muth is also situated  in  the  northern  street.  Many
vessel business is also here.  Kumbakonam  is very famous for brass
vessels.

	Many gOpurams are there in and around this  temple.  (There
are so many temples that are surrounding Sri ArA amuthan's Alayam).
There are also very beautiful mandapams that are  situated  in  and
around the temple. The prAhArangaL of the temple are very neat  and
beautiful. Sri periAzhwar wanted to play here in one of  them  with
Sri  ArA  amuthan  as  Sri  krishnan  in bAlyam and called the moon
also for the company. Such prAhAram is named as thoo nilA muRRam on
which the  whole  series  is being written.  Will elaborate on this
later at the end. The divya vimAnAs  are  very  grand.  One must be
very lucky to have a darshan of the samprOkshanam here.

	perumAl sannithi itself is a thEr ! yes, it  is  said  that
our lord came  on  HIS  divine  charriot  that is pulled by several
horses  and  elephants.  If those archeologists in india and abroad
have seen this very huge thEr or car of the Lord, the sun temple in
orissa will become ordinary in their minds. All these  siRpams  are
so beautiful. There are two dwAra bAlakAs whom look very very  real.
One can see their eyes and feel so !  thAyAr  sannithi  is  at  the
southern side of the car in which perumAL is in. thAyAr sits  in  a
lotus that has 1000 petals.

	There are AzhwAr sannithis,  Sri AndAL  sannithis,  AchAryA
sannithis including swami Sri  Desikan  sannithi  opposite  to  the
dwajasthambam. There are yAga sAlais. (The current one is in a very
bad shape and Sri Ahobila muth  has  undertaken  to  renovate  this
completely).  There  are  bAga sAlais, thiru paLLi ARai and kaNNAdi
aRai. There are two entrances to the perumAL sannithi on  the  car.
Few steps arranged  similar  to  a  stairs  lead  to each  of these
entrances. (One has to climb the charriot the Lord  is  riding,  to
have have a darshan of HIM).  One  is  for  the  dakshinAyanam  and
the other is for uttharAyanam. They are each opened for six months.
There is a very  nice  sqaure  hall  in  front  of  Sri ArA amuthan
sannithi. Many AchAryAs must have done prayers there.  There  is  a
garudAzhwAr sannithi at the eastern wall  of this car. It is indeed
garduAzhwar who became this car itself.  There  is  a small well in
the northern inner prAhAram. There is Sri  Srinivasar here knonw as
pAdhALA  SrinivAsar  on  whom a  purAnam  will be elaborated in the
later parts. This temple is 585 feet on the  breadth  on  south and
north side, and 188 feet width in west and 221  feet  width in east
approximately.
