Dear Bhagavatas, Presented below is Section 9 ( concluding section) of Part 2 Miracles from my book "Myths, Miracles and Mysticism". The postings on Mysticism will follow. Dasoham Anbil Ramaswamy ============================================================ Section 9 PHALASRUTIS IN OTHER STOTRAS In fact, you can find " Phalasrutis' attached as a finale to all scriptural texts and Stotras listing the benefits that would accrue to the persons who recite, read or hear the relevant texts But, here also, it should be remembered that the Stotras would be more effective if they had been advised and administered by the Acharya and properly recited as advised RANGANATHA ASHTAKAM ( LORD IN KRITAYUGA ) Ranganaatha Ashtakam Punyam Praathar Uthaaya Yah Pateth Sarvaan Kaamaan Avaapnoti Ranga Sayujyam Aapnuyath (meaning) One who rises early in the morning and recites the holy Stotra of Ranganaatha Ashtaka not only obtains all material benefits but also reaches Lord Ranganatha himself (never to be born again in this world) ABHEETHI STAVAM ( ALSO OF RANGANATHA) Prabhuddha Guru Veekshana Prathitha Venkatesotbhavam Imam Abhaya Siddhaye Patah Rangabarthus Stutim Bhayam Tyajatha Bhadram iti Abhi Daadtah Sa Vah Kesavah Swayam Ghana Grinaa Nidhi Guna Ganena Gopaayati (meaning) Great devotees! I have been blessed by the wise Acharyas and attained fame. I am Venkatesa. I have composed this Stotra called Abheethi Stavam by the grace of Lord Ranganatha. Please read this. You will have no fear of anything. The Ocean of grace, Sri Ranganatha will offer his protection to you and bless you with all the good things in life. RAMABHAKTA ANJANEYA ASHTOTRAM (DEVOTEE OF RAMA, THE LORD IN TRETAYUGA) Iti Evam Hanumatho Naamamnaam Ashtothram Satham Yah pateth Srunuyath Nityam Sarva Kaamaan Avaapnuyath (meaning) One who reads or hears daily this way the 108 names of Hanumaan, will obtain whatever one desires. KRISHNA ASHTOTRAM ( LORD IN DWAPARAYUGA ) Krishna Nama Amrutham Naama Param Ananda Kaarakam Athyupadrava Doshagnam Param Aayushya Vardhanam (meaning) This nectar of the names of Lord Krishna confers the greatest joy, removes all difficulties and sins and bestows longevity of life VENKATESA ASHTOTRAM ( LORD IN KALIYUGA ) Iti Sri Venkatesasya Naamnaam Ashtotram Satham Praathah Praatah Samuttaya Yah Pateth Bhaktimaan Narah Sarveshtaartham Avaapnoti Venkatesa Prasaadadah (meaning) That man who with devotion rises up early in the morning and recites the 108 names of Lord Venkatesa will secure whatever he wishes. LAKSHMI ASHTOTRAM ( GODDESS OF WEALTH AND PROSPERITY ) Trikaalam yo japeth Vidwaan Shaan Maasam Vijitendriyah Daaridhraya Dvamsanam Kritvaa Sarvam Avaapnoti Yatnatah Devee Naama Sahasreshu Punyam Ashtotram Satham Yena Sriyam Avaapnoti Koti Janma Dharidratah Brighu Vaare Satham Dheemaan Pateth Vatsara Matrakam Ashtaiswaryam Avaapnoti Kubhera iva Bhutale Dharidriya Mochanam Naama Stotram Amba Param Satham Yena Sriyam Avaapnoti Koti Janma Dharidratah Bhuktvaa Thu Vipulaan Bhogaan Asyaa Sayujyam Aapnuyath Prathah Kaale Pateth Nityam Sarva Duhka Upasaanthaye Patamsthu Chintayeth Deveem Sarvabharana Bhushitaam (meaning) He is wise who recites three times daily for 6 months controlling sensual desires and he will be relieved of his poverty and he will obtain whatever he desires. Out of the 1000 names of the Goddess, these 108 are the most merit yielding. By reciting them, even if a person has been wallowing in poverty for millions of lives, he would be relieved of it and obtain whatever he desires. A wise person who recites this Stotra on Fridays for one year continuously will obtain all the eight kinds of Siddhis viz., Progeny, Success, Lordship, Wealth, Primeordial prosperity, brimful of Granary, Courage and Fame and live on earth like Kubera, the Lord of wealth. By this Stotra of the names of the Supreme Goddess, one gets relief from poverty even if he had been languishing in it for millions of his lives. One can enjoy all the material prosperity here and attain liberation from birth. One should read this early in the morning and meditate on the Goddess (who is fully bedecked with all jewelry) to get relief from all kinds of miseries and sufferings. SRI STUTI ( ALSO OF SRI LAKSHMI, THE GODDESS OF PROSPERITY ) Upachita Guru Bhakteh Uthitham Venkatesaath Kali Kalusha Nivrityai Kalpamaanam Prajaanaam Sarasija Nilayaayaah Stotram Etat Patantah Sakala Kusala Seemaa Saarva Bhouma Bahvanti (meaning) This stotra was composed by Venkatesa with intense devotion. This can remove all the sins and suffering that arise on account of our being in Kaliyuga. Those who recite this Stotra will not only obtain the farthest in blessings but also reach beyond viz., Moksha ( liberation ) and will shine as the very emperors here and in the hereafter. SUDHARSANA ASHTAKAM ( DISC OF LORD VISHNU ) Dwi Chatushkam Idam Prabhuta Saaram Patataam Venkata Nayaka Praneetham Vishamepi Manorathaha Pradhaavan Na Vihanyeta Rataanga Turya Guptah (meaning) One who reads this Stotra of 8 verses pregnant with meaning, composed by Sri Venkatanatha can secure reliefs by the grace of Lord Sudarsana- a relief that cannot even be imagined otherwise. GARUDA DHANDAKAM ( THE DIVINE BIRD VEHICLE OF LORD VISHNU ) Vichitra Siddhitah Soyam Venkatesa Vipaschitaa Garudadvaja Thoshaaya Gito Garuda Dhandakah (meaning) This great Stotra Garuda Dhandakam will protect one from enemies, and secure accomplishment of wonderful results to one who recites it GARUDA PANCHAASAT ( ALSO OF GARUDA ) Saikham Panchaa Satham Yam Athanutha Vinatha Nandanam Nandayishyan Kritvaa Moulou Tadagjnaam Kavi Kathara Ghataa kesari Venkatesah Taam Etaam Seelayantah Samitha Visha Dhara Vyaadhi Deivadhi Peedam Kaankshaa Pourastya Laabhaah Kritham Ithara Phalai Thaarkshya Kalpa Bhavanti (meaning) Those who recite these 50 slokas of Garuda Panchasat, composed by Venkatesa as ordained by Garuda himself, will not be affected by bites from poisonous creatures like snakes, scorpions etc nor by disease nor by ghosts and preternatural beings. They will be relieved of all mental anxieties. Even before they think or desire something, that something will be in their hands already. HAYAGRIVA STOTRAM ( LORD OF KNOWLEDGE ) Vaagartha Siddhi Hetoh Pataha Hayagiva Samstutim Bhaktyaa Kavi Taarkika Kesarinaa Venkata Nathena Virachitaam Etaam (meaning) Those who desire to become literary genius and secure knowledge should read with devotion this Hayagriva Stotra composed by Venkatanatha who is a lion among poets and logicians. DASAVATAARA STOTRAM ( ON THE 10 AVATAARS OF THE LORD ) Vidhyo Dhanvati Venkateswara Kavou Jaatham Jagan Mangalam Devesasya Dasa Avataara Vishayam Stotram Vivaksheta Yaha Vaktre Tasya Saraswati Bahumukhi Bhakti Paraa Maanase Suddhi Kaapi Tanou Disaasu Dasasu Kyatih Subha Jrumbate (meaning) This stotra narrates the greatness of the 10 Avataars of Lord Ranganatha by his grace and has been composed by Poet venkatesa who is the ocean of arts and culture. Those who recite this will be blessed with all that is auspicious. Even if one desires to recite, Saraswati (Goddess of learning) will confer the ability to compose poems and bestow oratorical proficiency. Intense devotion will swell in their hearts and they will become great in mind, word and deed and their fame will spread in all the 10 directions of the Universe. PANCHAAYUTHA STOTRAM ( THE FIVE WEAPONS OF LORD VISHNU ) Imum Hareh Pancha Mahaa Aayudhaanaam Stavam Pateth Yo Anudhinam Prabhaate Samastha Duhkaani Bhayaani Sadhyah Paapaani Nasyanti Sukhaani Santi (meaning) If a person reads daily in the morning this hymn of the five great weapons of Lord Vishnu, all his sorrows, fears and sins will at once vanish and happiness will ensue. EFFICACY OF RECITING THE NAMES' ACHYUTA, ANANTA, GOVINDA' Achyuta! Anantha! Govinda! Nama Uchhaarana Beshajaat Nasyanti Sakala Rogaah Satyam Satyam Vadaamyaham (meaning) The very mention of the names 'Achyuta, Ananta and Govinda' is a wholesome medicine by which all diseases are cured. I swear ' This is true, This is true" REVELATIONS The revelation that you receive would be really exciting and exhilerating. You will gain not only in material benefits but also find yourself spiritually elevated.You will feel like a blind person who has suddenly regained a vision of 20/20 able to see colors as never before. The ecstasy is beyond words, something extraordinary that must be attributed to a supernatural or divine cause - answering to the definition of MIRACLE we mentioned at the outset.
