From the Bhakti List Archives

Mani: For me the list has served a great purpose. It initiated me into the sat-sangam of many SrI vaishNava-s, and also helped me spend more of my time on learning at least a little bit about our AcAryas' works. Without this list, where I was accepted without question, I would not have had the initiative to work on my pet project of the summary of SrI vishNu sahasra nAma vyAkhyAnam by pUrvacArya-s. While there are other lists, my limited exprience is that I would not have had the bhAgyam to have taken this work as far as I have been able to do, because of "editorial policies", "admission policies", etc. Same holds true for the series on pA`ncarAtra that I was able to contribute to, and the deSika stotra series that I worked on briefly. Each of these efforts enabled me to learn, and the bhakti list was the motivation, support, and vehicle, without which I would not have had the good fortune to be initiated into these areas. I also find the list very useful as a reference source for me whenever I need to look You have made a significant contribution to the SrIvaishNava community in North America, whether the list continues or not. -Krishnamachari 2.
