PeriyAzhwAr Thirunakshathram Celebration at SRI RANGANATHA TEMPLE , POMONA , NY : JUNE 30,2001

Dear BhakthAs:

Sri RanganAthA temple will celebrate the Thirunakshathram
of the Father-in-Law of Lord RanganAthA , PeriyAzhwAr ,
at Lord RanganAthA's new temple at Pomona , NY on June 30, 2001.

This will be the first AzhwAr Thirunakshathram to be celebrated at 
this recently consecrated temple for Lord RanganAthA.

The schedule of events for the day is:

8.00  AM:   Viswa Roopam
8.15  AM:   NithyAnusandhAnam
9.00  AM:   AzhwAr Prabhandha PaarAyaNam
10.00 AM:   Thirumanjanam
12.00 Noon: SaaRRumuRai
13.00 PM:   PrasAdham

Please join in this celebration and receive 
the blessings of Sri VishNu Chittar/PeriyAzhwAr 
and the Srirangam Dhivya Dampathis.

Background Information on PeriyAzhwAr

PeriyAzhwAr of Srivilliputthur is the foster father 
Of our ANDAL. He blessed us with 473 paasurams including
ThiruppallANDu , which is extensively used in NithyAnusandhAnam.
His enjoyment of the leelais of Bala KrishNan in his role as
YasOdhA PirAtti are housed in many decads of his Prabhandhams.
His valedictory address to ThiruvenkatamudayAn (SenniyOngu
Paasurams) and His NeerAttam/Thirumanjanam ,Poochhootal,
Kaappidal paasurams are some of the most moving paasurams of 

the NaalAyira Dhivya prabhandham.

PeriyAzhwAr performed MangaLAsAsanam for 19 dhivya Desams:
