Dear Members, here is a story I found on the dvaita list, told by Sri Madhwacharya. I hope you don't mind me using it in the context of Sri Mani's letter. "Swamiji told a story (from some purana) about the behavior of two brothers on Krishnaashatami - one fasted the whole day and offered arghya (water) at midnight (as prescribed by the shaastras) while the other indulged in alcohol. Contrary to what one might think the one who did not fast and got intoxicated went to heaven while the other went to hell. The reason for this apparently counter-intuitive outcome was due to the state of the consciences of the two brothers - each one felt he should have done what the other one did." Quite a strong point, isn't it? Namo Narayana Kristijan _________________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Get your free @yahoo.com address at http://mail.yahoo.com
