SrI: Shrimate Shri Lakshmi Nrusimha Parabrahmane Namaha: Shrimate Shri Seetha Ramachandra Parabrahmane Namaha: Shrimate Shri Ramanujaya Namaha: Shrimate Nigamantha Maha Desikaya Namaha: Shrimate Shrivan Satagopa Shri Narayana Yateendra Mahadesikaya Namaha: All of us have been cumulating sins from time immemorial. Our Lord because of his over whelming mercy wants us to enjoy eternal happiness and wants to help us out. To achieve this objective our Lord gives us a form and the capacity to think, so that we will take up either Bhakti or Prapatti as upAya. Having got the capacity to think all we have to do is to realise that our Lord is the ultimate and surrender at his lotus feet. Our Alvar, Shri Nathamunigal and Shri Alavandar spread the teachings of Sri Vaishnava tatvas. This helped many people to perform Prapatti and to take refuge at the feet of Sriya: Pathi and be redeemed. At this juncture there were also many atheist and misinterpreters of Vedas who created problems for our Sat SampradAyam. Our Lord Peria Perumal felt that only Shri Ramanuja would help solve this crisis and so asked Shri Peria Nambi to teach all the Vedanta Sastras [taught by Shri Alavandar] to Shri Ramanuja. Our Lord added that Shri Peria Nambi had to spread our siddantham through Shri Udayavar. Peria Nambi having been instructed by Sriya: Pathi decided to go ahead and meet Ramanuja instead of waiting for him. He started to Kanchi and on his way landed in Madhurannthakam. Our Lord, Kanchi Varadaraja Perumal at the same time instructed Shri Ramanuja through Thirukachi Nambi to take refuge in Shri Peria Nambi. So, Shri Ramanuja also came to MadhurAnthakam. Shri Peria Nambi performed PanchasamskAram to Shri Ramanuja in Madhuranthakam itself and taught the mantras. It is interesting to note that in Madhuranthakam we can still see the Sankha and ChakrA that was embossed by Shri Peria Nambi to perform thApa SamskAram to Ramanuja. Later Shri Peria Nambi taught Shri Ramanuja all vEdAntaarthas which he had learnt from Alavandar. Thus Peria Nambi, through Udaiyavar has helped all of us. Shri Peria Nambi thus fulfilled our Lord's Agnya and there by gave us the greatest pokisham - Ramanujar, he is truly a MahApoorna. Sri Peria Nambi is one of the five Acharyas of Shri Ramanuja. The others are: GoshtipOrna, SrisailapOrna, MAlAdharA and Sri Ranga- gayakendra (Tiruvaranga Perumal Araiyar). Swami Desika salutes to this Acharya, who was an important Acharya of Shri Yatirajar thus: DayAnighnam YatIndrasya dEsikam pOrNamAsraye ! Yena vishvasrujo vishNo: apOryata manOratha: !! -- Yatiraja Saptati (9) Swami Desika seeks refuge at the lotus feet of Shri Peria Nambi, who was the most compassionate guru and the chief preceptor of YatIndra. Shri Peria Nambi initiated all the mantras to Shri BhasyakArar and thus fulfilled the order of our Supreme Lord Vishnu. ......to be continued!
