Dear Nrsimha-bhaktA-s of the Bhakti group,

The past week has been blessing ! We've all got to read a lot of posts on
Ahobilam, Nrsimhan. It's a pleasure listening in on the beauties of
Azhagiyasinga-peruman, thanks to Sri.Sadagopan. I also enjoyed
eaves-dropping on the conversation between Sri.Bharadwaj and Sri.Sempath
Rengarajan on various "nrsimha-stotrA-s".

It was nice too to hear Sri.Sundarrajan mention my "manaseega-AchAryan"
Sri.Mukkur Swamy II in his post on "Noble Personages".

Mukkur Swamy II himself once composed a simple but extremely beautiful hymn
on Lord Malolan called "malOla-panchakam".

I simply love this poem and am very fond of reciting it any time, any where
I please. My "AchAryan" composed it in a rare moment of expansiveness many
years ago after he had had a deep "dhyAna" of the "mantra-raja-pada-stotram"
and of the memory of the 42nd Azhagiyasingar, Srimad InjimEd Swamy. The hymn
has also been hailed by the 44th Azhagaiya singar, "Mukkur Swamy" -I !!

Here is the exquisite little hymn which I appeal to all of you to please
study and, if possible, recite yourself :

                yogithyEyam sadAnandam
                  bhaktAnAm abhayankaram
                malOlam pundareekAksham
                  shamshrayE varadam harim

                sarga-sthi-thi vinAshAnam
                 karta-kartru-pati: svayam
                malOlam pundareekAksham
                  shamshrayE varadam harim

                ramAsakam dayA pUrnam
                 sarvalOka namaskrutham
                malOlam pundareekAksham
                  shamshrayE varadam harim
             
                prahlAda-varadam shrEshtam
                 garUdAdri nivAsinam
                malOlam pundareekAksham
                  shamshrayE varadam harim

                 vEdAnta-gurunA nityam
                   sEvyamAnam param shubham
                 malOlam pundareekAksham
                  shamshrayE varadam harim
                    

                (phala-shruti):

                 sri ranga yogi krupayA
                   prOktam stOtram idam shubham
                 yaf-paTtEth shraddhayA nityam
                   sarva pApaI: pramUcchyathE !

Even the very sound of the phrases used in the poem is so soothing to the
ears, isn't it ?!! It has a soft rhythm and a dainty gait !! It is so full
of auspicious sentiments !! It is such a humble and worshipful piece !!
